Deirdre Sugiuchi spent her adolescence in a white evangelical reform school for so-called troubled teens and recently finished her captivity narrative, Unreformed. Sugiuchi is an Assistant Editor at The Rumpus and a former public school librarian. In 2023 she received a grant for feminist nonfiction from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund.
