As an independent nonprofit, Electric Literature relies on the regular support of our members to make literature more exciting, relevant, and inclusive. We are committed to publishing work that is intelligent and unpretentious, elevating new voices, and examining how literature and storytelling can help illuminate social justice issues and current events.
Members receive access to private submissions portals, faster response times with a personal note from an editor, and discounts for our virtual events and online store.

- Submit your work to Electric Lit whenever you like! Access to a private member submission portal so you can submit your stories, essays, poems, flash, graphic, and experimental narratives year-round, with a guaranteed response time of 3 months or less and a personal note from an editor. (Regular submissions have 8-month average response times and limited, week-long submission windows.)
- Advice on how to write well and get published. Members enjoy 50% off access to all of our Salon Series virtual events. If you miss the live streams, you can watch the recordings any time on through our store using an exclusive coupon code, which you can also use to register at half price for future events.
