Dayna Mahannah grew up in West Kelowna, British Columbia, the territory of the Syilx and Okanagan people. She now lives in Vancouver with her partner and their uncategorizable mutt. Dayna was a contributing editor at Beatroute Magazine, and a campaign manager at Adbusters. Her work appears in NUVO, TRUE Africa, and HELD Mag. A graduate of SFU’s The Writers Studio and third-year MFA candidate of UBC’s Creative Writing program, Dayna is currently writing a memoir about working as a reporter in Ghana—a story about the cost of ambition and the misfortune of finding yourself wherever you go.
