About
Before Electric Literature relaunched as an online publisher with the first issue of Recommended Reading in 2012, we published six issues of a quarterly(ish) anthology. Available in all formats, including ebook and print, it pioneered a new publishing model that is standard practice today. Now, for the first time in years, PDF editions of those anthologies are available for purchase.
Electric Literature is just that, electric—great stories that grab you. Revisit our June 2009 debut issue, featuring the first published excerpt from Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Cunningham’s novel By Nightfall (excerpted under the working title Olympia), as well as fiction from some of America’s most innovative and important contemporary writers, including Jim Shepard (whose story from the issue, “Your Fate Hurtles Down at You,” was included in The O. Henry Prize Stories), T Cooper, Pulitzer finalist Lydia Millet, and Diana Wagman. Their stories are charged with wit, incident, and emotional gravity right from the first sentence. Cover art by Fred Tomaselli. After purchase, you will receive an email with a link to download the PDF file. To purchase this item as a gift, just forward the follow-up email, which includes instructions for accessing your digital item, to the gift recipient.
