Carole Burns’s debut novel, The Same Country, was published in the UK in autumn 2023. She was awarded John C. Zacharis Award by Ploughshares for her collection, The Missing Woman and Other Stories, and her book, Off the Page: Writers Talk About Beginnings, Endings and Everything in Between, was based on interviews with forty-three writers such as Gish Jen, Jhumpa Lahiri, Anthony Doerr and Edward P. Jones. Her reviews, author interviews and essays have appeared in publications including the Washington Post and LitHub.
